Argentina Officially Declares Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps a Terrorist Organization

Buenos Aires, April 6 (NA) -- The national government, which had already expressed its political decision to declare the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a terrorist organization, confirmed the measure on Monday by publishing it in the Official Gazette. According to the Argentine News Agency, the joint resolution 3/2026 between the Ministry of Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs formalizes the registration of the theocratic militia in the Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism (RePET). With this move, Javier Milei's administration toughens its stance in response to recent warnings from Tehran and reinforces national security mechanisms. The decision to elevate the IRGC's status to that of a terrorist entity had already been advanced by the Executive, a move that strategically aligns the country with the positions of Western democracies.
